Another day, another bug.
When you are working on a shared document with others, Microsoft have a feature that enables an email notification when someone is @mentioned in a comment in a document. Documentation on this feature is here.
What is meant to happen is when someone adds a comment in a document and they use the @ sign to @mention you, you’ll get an email to your mailbox that contains details of the comment. You can then click on the link in the email to go direct to the comment.
Our issue is that the email is being received, but our user gets a message stating “we are unable to show this comment” rather then an image showing the comment, meaning that they need to go to the document to see this.
Queue Microsoft support team at this point and a week or so of trying different things (including reinstall M365 Apps for Enterprise [aka Office]) only to find that it is indeed a bug.
The bug has been passed over to the product team to resolve and provide a fix in a future build of M365 Apps for Enterprise.
As usual, I’ll update the post with the release details.
